SMALL BUSINESS WEB DESIGN SERVICES · ONTARIO

Start with the business problem. Then choose the service.

Second Coat builds new websites, rebuilds old ones, rescues broken ones and adds ecommerce when selling online is part of the job. When the expensive problem is behind the website, Aaryn handles automation, integrations and custom software as a separate engineering service.

HOW WE DECIDE WHAT YOU ACTUALLY NEED

Do not buy six pages because six pages sounds like a website.

The right scope starts with what a customer needs to understand and what the business needs the site to do. A one-page site can be enough for one focused offer. An established company with several services usually needs room for those services to stand on their own. A store needs product and fulfilment logic. A site full of malware needs to be stabilized before it needs a new colour palette.

If the problem is staff retyping information, moving data between systems or doing the same manual task every day, that is not web design at all. It belongs with Aaryn on the engineering side. Keeping those categories separate is how Second Coat avoids turning every problem into the service we happen to want to sell.

Every priced offer on the pricing page opens into the actual scope: what is included, what you provide, what is outside the price and where extra cost begins. You can compare the options before you ever fill out the form.

FIVE PLACES A PROJECT CAN START

The service should fit the problem.

WEBSITE DESIGN + REBUILDS

Make the website match the business.

For a new business that needs a credible first site, or an established one whose current website looks dated, reads poorly or makes customers work too hard. The work covers structure, words, custom design, mobile, accessibility, search foundations and launch.

WEBSITE RESCUE

Find out what is actually broken first.

For malware, injected spam, broken forms, slow pages and websites nobody wants to update. Rescue work starts with investigation and a safe realistic recovery path before anybody talks about selling you a redesign.

ECOMMERCE

Sell without making the store harder than it needs to be.

For simple Stripe payments, a Shopify store added to a custom website, or a complete ecommerce site. The right package depends on products, inventory, fulfilment and how much store administration the business actually needs.

BLOG WRITING + SEARCH CONTENT

Turn real customer questions into useful pages.

For businesses that have expertise but not the time to research, write, structure and publish useful articles. One-off local and authority articles are available, with founding-client packs for businesses planning a consistent run of content.

AUTOMATION + CUSTOM SOFTWARE

Fix the problem behind the website.

For repetitive workflows, systems that do not talk to each other, internal tools and custom software. Aaryn, Second Coat's Principal Engineer, leads this work from requirements through deployment, with London clients able to meet him locally.

WHAT WE KEEP SEPARATE

Design, repair, selling and engineering are not one mystery package.

A rebuild is about the customer-facing website: message, structure, design and a clean technical foundation. Rescue work is about stabilizing a site that is broken or compromised. Ecommerce adds a real transaction and order layer. Automation and custom software solve operational problems behind the site.

Those lines matter because the cheapest useful answer is often smaller than the biggest thing we could sell. A five-product Stripe setup should not become a complete Shopify build. A workflow problem should not become a redesign. A hacked website should not be made prettier before somebody finds out whether it is safe.

Second Coat publishes separate starting points because a clear boundary is part of the product. If the requirement crosses one of those boundaries, you should know why before the scope and price change.

WHERE WE WORK

Two real bases. A wider practical service area.

Scott is based in Port Dover and lived in Hamilton for years. Aaryn is based in central London. Work can happen remotely or in person when being on site will make the project better.

SMALL BUSINESS WEB DESIGN SERVICE QUESTIONS

Enough detail to choose a direction.

How do I know whether I need a one-page site or a full rebuild?

Start with the number of distinct customer questions the website has to answer. One focused offer can often live on one strong page. An established business with several important services, audiences or locations usually needs separate pages so each subject has enough room to be useful to customers and search engines.

Does Second Coat only do web design?

No. Scott leads the customer-facing website work: positioning, copy, structure and design. Aaryn leads engineering work when the actual problem is automation, disconnected systems, an internal tool or custom software. Those are separate scopes so a software problem is not disguised as a website add-on.

Do you work outside Port Dover?

Yes. Scott is based in Port Dover and lived in Hamilton for years. Aaryn is based in central London. Second Coat works across Norfolk County, Hamilton, Brantford, London and surrounding Southern Ontario, remotely or in person when being on site will materially improve the project.

Can I see the price before I contact you?

Yes. Current founding-client prices are published on the homepage. Every priced offer has an expandable full scope explaining what is included, what you provide, what is not included and where additional cost begins.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PICK FIRST

Send the website or describe the thing that is driving the business nuts.

Scott handles the first reply. If it is a website problem, the free Second Look gives you five specific observations and the first thing he would fix. If it is an engineering problem, Aaryn takes the technical conversation.
